Galileo proved that just because the object is heavier,it doesn't fall faster. It actually depends on the air resistance. Aristotle was a Greek philosopher that thought the heavier object will fall faster.Galileo proved it by going to the top of the leaning tower of Pisa and dropped a cannon ball and a wooden ball. They had the same amount of air resistance so they fell at the same time even though the cannon ball was about 10 times heavier:)

Aristotle was the one who said that heavy objects fall faster than light objects! But Galileo proved that heavy and light objects fall at the same time! How......? He climbed the leaning tower of PIZZA (Pisa) and he dropped a cannon ball and a wooden ball at the same time. (a cannon ball probably weighed 15 times more then a wooden ball) All the people were shocked that the two balls landed at the same time! THATS how Galileo proved that heavy and light objects fell at the same time! But still at this day thousands of people still believe that heavy objects fall faster then lighter objects! TA-DA :D

Galileo proved that even though that the object is heavier that I won't fall faster than the other. But Aristotle thought that objects that weigh more than others will fall faster. but Galileo had the guts to prove Aristotle wrong because the only reason that heavier objects fall faster is that air resistance slows down lighter objects. So he gathered everyone to see him perform a scientific experiment he went up to the "Leaning Tower of Pisa" he had a cannon ball and a wooden ball of same size them only difference between them their weight so air resistance was the same for both of them so he reached out dropped them and fell at the same time and the crowd was like woooooooooow!!!!! And after everyone knew why heavier objects fell faster than a litter object and no one ever questioned him again.
