The pygmy marmoset is one of the smallest primates with its body length ranging from 14 to 16 cm. It has nicknames such as pocket monkey and little lion. Pygmy means small.

The Pygmy Marmoset is found in upper Amazon Basin east of the Andes in Colombia Ecuador, Peru, Northern Bolivia and Brazil. They are the worlds smallest true monkeys. They live from 11 to 12 years only.Their fur is buff and grey with yellow and green striations, which give it a grizzled effect on the head and back and a vague effect on the tail.
